Zero Foodprint is a 501(c)(3) organization restoring the climate one acre at a time, as a vetted environmental partner with 1% for the Planet and the recipient of the 2020 James Beard Foundation Humanitarian of the Year award.
When [ZFP] got started, [they] set out to help restaurants reduce their climate impacts. After crunching the numbers, one thing became clear: most of a meal’s greenhouse gas emissions happen before the ingredients even make it to a restaurant. [they] realized that the fastest way to reduce the emissions in the food system is to change how food is grown.

That isn’t as easy as it sounds. [Zero FoodPrint] talked to hundreds of farmers who said they needed more resources to transition to regenerative practices – from technical assistance to cost-sharing and accessible funding. So [they] began building a movement with chefs, farmers, scientists, and regional governments to work to change the food system from the ground up.
