Chateau Musar is not only the most famous Lebanese winery, but it is truly one of the great wineries of the world. Grapes are fermented separately by variety, aged for seven years in barrel, and then assembled into the final wine before additional aging. At over a decade past the vintage this young bottling still has plenty of life left in it. Powerful and expressive, this full bodied white wine smells and tastes like the flesh inside of a yellow plum, crushed smarties, and white porcelain dust, balanced by vibrant acidity. An ideal match for herby roast chicken, couscous salad with walnut and dill, or whole fish cooked in fig leaves.
